Obituary

Carolyn Sue Stone, age 78, went home to be with her Lord on September 3, 2023. She was born on August 3, 1945 and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young girl. After graduating from Nathan Hale High School in 1963, she earned two undergraduate degrees (Music, Baptist Bible College; Education, Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College). She later served as a faithful pastor's wife for many years alongside her husband, Loye. In her church ministry, Carolyn sang with a beautiful soprano voice. She was also an elementary Christian school teacher. Her expertise as a teacher gave her opportunities to instruct other teachers in various settings and cities, including seminars in Dallas, Texas. One of her students called her "a Cadillac of a teacher." Carolyn kept a wonderful, Christlike spirit, even in the latter years of her life as she struggled with the effects of a stroke. Through it all, she remained a loving wife to her husband and loving mother to her children and grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Arlene Spencer. She is survived by her husband, Loye Stone, whom she married on September 5, 1964; daughter Terri Campbell (Mark) of Talbott, Tennessee; son Ronnie Stone (Beverly) of Lewisville, Texas; son Paul Stone (Julie) of Claremore, Oklahoma; siblings Martha Landsteiner, Sharon Gearhart, Larry Spencer, Roger Spencer, and Gary Spencer; grandchildren Bethany, Kelly, Jacob, Heidi, Caleb, Isaac, Aaron, Anna, Micah, Kaidyn, Devin and Jeret; great-grandchildren Owen, Amelia and Moriah.
