Obituary
Catherine Virginia Lane was born November 22, 1915 in Flat Rock, Illinois. She died September 26, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a long and healthy life at the age of 105.
Born to Owen and Estella Miller, Catherine spent her early years in Illinois and moved with her parents, grandparents, and other family members to Oklahoma in 1920. She was graduated from Sand Springs High School in 1935 and later attended Tulsa Business College. She worked for the Oklahoma State Highway Department for 12 years and met her husband, Robert (Bob) Howard Lane while working there. Catherine and Bob postponed their marriage because of World War II until August 5, 1944. They were married in Baltimore, MA and lived there until Bob was shipped overseas. They were happily married for 45 years.
Catherine had a wonderful life with her family in Tulsa. She enjoyed a close relationship with her parents, she was a devoted daughter. She had great pride and love for her extended family. Memorable family gatherings were always lively and fun filled occasions with picnics and holiday events. Catherine was an only child but she shared her life and kindness with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends over the years. Everyone who knew her marveled at the stories of her life and the wisdom she shared.
She was a life long member of the Methodist Church of Sand Springs. For several years, she and a close friend made doll clothes by hand and sold them commercially to toy stores in Tulsa. Catherine enjoyed going to estate sales and was always looking for collectables. She was graced with good health most of her life and was active until her death. Catherine's death leaves a hole in the fabric of our lives that cannot be filled. She was always there for her family and friends. She enriched our lives in so many ways. She will be missed.

Catherine was preceded in death by her father, Owen Miller; mother Estella Gilbert Miller; and her husband, Bob Lane of Tulsa.
