Catherine M. Talley
Long-time Tulsa resident passed away August 6, 2021, in Mt. Vernon, MO. She was 99 years old. The 2nd of 7 children, Catherine was born May 25, 1922, in Omaha, NE. After graduating from Creighton University and St. Catherine's school of Nursing with her R.N. and B.S.N, Catherine joined the army as a Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corp. Although brief, her service gave her a great sense of pride. In 1944 Catherine married C.E. (Mike) Talley, a marriage lasting until his death in December, 2005. The Talley family moved to Tulsa in 1950; Catherine's nursing career spanned 46 years. Most notably she was an industrial nurse at McDonnell/Douglas aircraft for many years and later she was the school nurse at Oral Roberts University and the City of Faith. After retiring in 1989, Catherine volunteered at the John 3:16 mission and as a member of the R.N. Community Volunteers. Catherine was also a life-long blood donor. An avid bridge player, Catherine enjoyed playing with the same group of friends for over 50 years. In 2013 Catherine moved to Missouri to be close to family; Catherine is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia and Priscilla, son John Michael, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
