In memory of Catherine "Cathy" Wise Miller

Cathy was born September 25, 1937 in Ronan, Montana to Victor and Myrtle Wise. Cathy grew up in Swan Valley Montana and she enjoyed the beautiful mountains, wildlife and everything outdoors. She attended Smith Flats Elementary and Missoula County High School. While raising her family, she graduated from Sheridan College in Sheridan Wyoming with a degree in nursing. She loved being a Registered Nurse and especially enjoyed working as a hospice nurse.

Cathy also enjoyed entertaining in her home. She was known as a great cook and for her delicious desserts. After dinner she would gather everyone around the piano to sing gospel songs long into the evening. Cathy was also very talented. She was an excellent seamstress and played the piano, guitar, steel guitar and the accordion. She played the piano for worship at her church and frequently would visit the nursing home to provide them an opportunity to join in and sing and worship the Lord.

For the last several years, Cathy has had challenges with her heart, kidneys, and diabetes and more recently, her vision, knees and joints in general. On Tuesday, October 5, 2021 she had knee surgery and at about 3:00 am Cathy suffered a heart attack. She was transferred to a local hospital where surgery was performed and the doctors put in a stent. She was kept overnight and during the night Cathy had three heart attacks. She went to be with the Lord at about 9:30, the morning of Friday, October 8, 2021.

Cathy is survived by her husband Edward Miller of Tulsa Oklahoma and three siblings; Earl Wise of Prattville Alabama, Lillie Brown of Post Falls Idaho and Becky Garrett of Bloomington Minnesota. Cathy has six living children; Evonne Sears of Washington State, Valli L. Burns of Tulsa OK, Vicki Lynn Roller of Billings Montana, Lavina Burns of Decatur Alabama, Vince Wagner of Cape Coral Florida and Edward "Chip" Miller of Bend Oregon. Cathy has 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Myrtle Wise, her sister Yvonne Wise of Swan Valley Montana and one son, Vernon Wagner of Groveland Florida.

She will always be remembered as a gracious host who loved to entertain and she used her gift to invite neighbors over to her home where she always found a way to share the story of Jesus and the salvation message.

She will be missed by all!
