Obituary
Our beautiful daughter and mother, Cathy Elizabeth McClish passed away all too soon to be with God on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the age of 53.
Cathy was born October 7, 1969 in Denver, Colorado to Carrol Scranton and the late David W. Scranton. She lived there for a short while, later moved to St. Louis, and finally the city she would come to call home, Tulsa, Ok. She attended Walter Reed Elementary, Lewis and Clark Jr. High, and graduated in 1987 from East Central H.S. She was an only child, but growing up had four cousins: Leslie Sorreols, Julie Brillhart, Jennifer Armayor and Rebecca Montgomery. At an early age she professed her life to Christ and in her recent years she frequented Victory Church here in Tulsa.
As a child she enjoyed dancing and traveling frequently with her mother and grandparents, Robert and Wanda Curtis. In her teenage years, she became interested in horseback riding and was often accompanied by her grandfather. In 1989 she became a mother and welcomed her first of four children: Brittany Nicole. 6 years later she welcomed her only son, Michael Anthony. 11 months after that Felicia Elizabeth was born, and Meagan Jeanne was her last to enter the world in 1999. She always said her greatest accomplishment was her children. As a grandmother she enjoyed taking her oldest, Maddyx Sissel to swim in the summer; and she also enjoyed sleepovers with her two youngest, Aspyn and Landyn Ufer. Cathy was well read and would often be found with her nose in a book. She had a great sense of humor, was a die-hard Raiders fan, and if she could have lived by the beach forever, she would have.
Cathy leaves to cherish her loving memory her half-sister Stayce Scranton-Colby and her companion Alfred Reed, along with a multitude of friends. She is preceded in death by her aunts and uncles: Bobby and Mary Curtis and Tal and Nancy Roberts. Cathy will be dearly missed and forever cherished by all family and friends she leaves behind.
