Obituary

Cecil "Jack" Edmondson, Jr., a cherished adventurer and beloved family member, peacefully passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on October 31, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida, Jack was the son of Cecil Jack Edmondson Sr. and Gladys Lorene Edmondson (Christian).

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Judy Houston Edmondson, along with his loving daughters, Erin Lorene Edmondson and Stacy Erin Edmondson, and his son, Sean Edmondson. The warmth of his legacy continues through his grandchildren: Austin Ethan Edmondson, Madison Lorene Hendry, Paul Austin Dustin Hendry, Corey O'Neil Malfabon, Quintin Converse Malfabon, Paige Edmondson, Aaron Mallory, and adopted grandson Isaac Ingram, and not to forget his loyal, sweet companion Daisy Mae Edmondson. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter Christine O'Neil Edmondson, and his uncles, George Finn and James "Professor Backwards" Edmondson Sr. His spirit and the memories he created will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved him. Born on October 31, 1944.

Jack found his first love in the United States Air Force, where he served from 1966 to 1970 as a Chaplain Services Specialist. His role involved delivering the most challenging news to families, a testament to his compassion and empathy. He was immensely proud of his time as a drummer in the US Air Force Military Airlift Command Band, where he touched the hearts of many with his performances. One of his most cherished memories was performing at the "Armed Forces Week Concert" at the Henry and Ethel Ford Auditorium in Detroit, Michigan, on May 13, 1969, where he showcased his talent in "West Side Story." His musical journey continued beyond military service, playing with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, the "Kool Kat Band" at Disney World, and the "Scotty Mac Band." In addition to his passion for music, had a profound love for the water. He began his maritime journey with personal boats and eventually became a charter boat captain for the "Bass Tub" in San Francisco, CA. His adventures continued as the captain of "The Desert Princess," where he not only led tours to the Hoover Dam but also officiated weddings aboard. He later owned a semi-truck hauling flagstone rock, but the allure of the sea drew him back to San Francisco. There, he became the captain of the "Yacht Lady" and also captained "The Solitary" for Alcatraz Cruises. His fraternal affiliation were with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in San Francisco CA, American Legion Post 308 Mohawk, and the VFW Post 577 in Tulsa, OK. Jack leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unforgettable melodies. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A celebration of his life will be held on August 10, 2025 at 2:00pm at American Legion Post 308, 11328 E Admiral Pl, Tulsa, OK 74116, with Chaplain Terry Smelling officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Tinker AFB Honor Guard in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
