Charity Carlyn Hintze was born November 4, 1978 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She died August 31, 2026 at Saint John's Hospital in Tulsa at age 47 after a valiant and painful struggle with a long illness.

Charity was the firstborn child of Richard Alan Hintze and Lana Elaine Baker Hintze, and they could not have been more thrilled.

Charity was preceded in death by Richard's parents Al and Inez Hintze, and Elaine's parents Carl and Colleen Baker, as well as by Richard's brother William and sister Nancy, and Elaine' brother Carl Jr.

She leaves behind her parents Richard and Elaine Hintze; her two brothers Jeffrey Hintze (with wife Nema and their child Ruth) and Jordan Hintze (with wife Sonja and their children Jonah, Wesley, and Taya); Richard's brother Steve Hintze (with wife Laura); Elaine's sister-in-law Calveta Lyons (with husband Willard); many cousins; and Charity's sweetheart Greg Tillman.

Charity was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although she only actively attended until she was 16, she always had an unshakable faith in Jesus Christ and in the truthfulness of His Gospel.

Charity's formal education began at Mingo Valley Christian School. She then entered the Union School system and graduated high school in 1997. She earned over 100 college credits from TCC, TTC, and OSU but didn't attain a specific degree. She did earn a CNA from Wings Healthcare Training in Broken Arrow and used it to work in a nursing home, but soon realized she couldn't bear seeing people suffer every day.

She later worked as a Makeup Specialist and Artist in major department stores like Macy's and Dillard's, beautifying the faces of brides and prom girls, and removing years from the faces of mature women.

She was a best friend and confidant to many girls and some boys, and in absence of her health problems likely would have made counseling her profession.

She was a member of the 4H club, and was proud that her Pecan Pear Tart won a blue ribbon at the Tulsa State Fair.

Charity was a staunch Republican throughout her adult life, but was always willing to "discuss" other viewpoints.

She was a fine athlete, excelling in Soccer, Basketball, and Softball. She was a loyal follower of OSU football, Oklahoma City Thunder basketball, and Tulsa Oilers Ice Hockey, and had lots of each team's merchandise.

Charity loved all animals, and had many pets over the years including 4 dogs with 18 puppies, 2 cats with several kittens, 4 parrots, a sugar glider, a hedgehog, an iguana, and a bearded dragon.

During her grade school years Charity took dance lessons from longtime family friend Janis Myers. She always had great control of her voice. She loved doing funny voices, impressions, and foreign accents, and sang beautifully.

She went on numerous trips with her family to locations like Six Flags over Texas, Disney World, Universal Studios, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, the Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, Panama City, and church historical sites like Nauvoo and Liberty Jail. Her favorite family trip was a cruise to the Bahamas, even though our ship was chased by Hurricane Erin and its 60-foot waves for most of the 3 days and nights.

For Personal trips with friends, Charity visited popular spots in California, Texas, and Florida plus Mardi Gras and the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. She also went to resorts in the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, and Saint John's, and traveled throughout Europe, actually living in Prague for several months.

As Charity's parents, we are struggling to deal with the loss of our daughter. However, we take comfort knowing that she is no longer in constant pain, and is now in the loving company of family and friends who preceded her in death, but most of all she's with her Savior.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 11:00 am at Moore Funeral Home - Southlawn Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
