Charlene "Maxine" VanTassel -67 of Bixby, OK passed away November 2, 2024.

Maxine was born 9/21/1957 in Bakersfield, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother Charlene Mullin and father John VanTassel. Maxine leaves behind her "hero", brother Tom VanTassel wife Emely of Buckeye, AZ, Uncle Kermet Mullin and wife Bonnie of Tahlequah, Maxine's self-adopted sisters, Iola Griffith of Coweta and Evette Young of Coweta, Neighbors at Hadlee Manor in Bixby where she lived, Angel Percy and her NCDC Staff and friends. Maxine Graduated from Hissom Memorial school, where she took pride in herself for "Caring for the Kids". She Worked and retired from A New Leaf, which was her dream job as she loved caring for plants, and assisting with maintaining the Veteran grave sites. Maxine loved animals especially her long-term canine companion "Rocky". She enjoyed vacationing, arts and crafts, playing Talking Tom on her phone/ iPad. She also enjoyed TikTok's and Facebook. To know Maxine was to love her. Maxine never met a stranger; you immediately were family enjoying the banter and using her quick wit and snappy comebacks. Maxine left a legacy of love, relationships, life well lived.
