Obituary

Charles Joe Chase went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 23, 2023 at Claremore Veterans Center. He had been at the center for several years, as he needed help due to declining health.

Joe (as he liked to be called) was born on October 18, 1927, the son of Thomas Everett Chase and Hessie Mae Chase. He attended Tulsa schools all of his life, graduating from Central High School in 1945.

Joe joined the Army on March 3, 1946, barely 18 years old. After discharge in 1947, he returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma and married his sweetheart Alice Mae (Stilwell) Chase. They were happily married for 68 years, until Alice Chase's death in 2016. To this union, there were three children born, Gary Joe Chase, Barbara Ann (Chase) Forrester and Brenda Lois Chase.

He was employed by the United States Postal Service, for 30 years and 9 months, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the National Letter Carriers for over 60 years, until his death. Joe was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He had a kind heart and would help others when he could. Family meant the world to Joe. He was a member of Harvard Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma until its closing. He held many positions in the church, some of those were (Treasurer and Chairman of the Trustee).

Joe was preceded in death by his (Wife) Alice Mae Stilwell Chase, (Mother) Hessie Mae Chase, (Father) Thomas Everett Chase, (Daughter) Barbara Ann Chase Forrester, (Brother) Thomas Everett Chase and (Sister) Anna Mae Chase.
Survivors include: his (Son) Gary Joe Chase, (Daughter in Law) ShelleyChase of Morris, Oklahoma and his (daughter) Brenda Lois Chase of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Eight grandchildren, five great-grandchilden and two great-great granchildren, nieces and nephews, and distant family.

Viewing will be 10am-8pm, Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
