Charles Damon Evans, 86, passed away at Mid-Del Nursing Center on November 6, 2020 of complications from congestive heart failure. He was born April 21, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to Theodore Michael Bohn and Helen Olga Crow (Bohn) and adopted at birth by Paul Joseph Evans and Julia Mildred Jolliffee. He graduated from Stroud High School in Stroud, Oklahoma and married Thelma Jean Christy on May 8, 1954. He went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. After his service, he worked for American Airlines for 22 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Thelma; his son Charles Damon Evans, Jr. and daughter-in-law Linda Evans of Collinsville, OK and his son Brian Lee Evans of Haskell, OK. He is survived by his daughter Audra and husband Randy Childress of Choctaw, OK; his grandson Charles Damon Evans, III of Tulsa, OK; and daughter-in-law Cathy Evans of Haskell, OK.
Charles was active in the Masonic Temple for many years and served on the city council in Collinsville, OK. He will be laid to rest in Drumright North (Oakhill) Cemetery, Drumright, OK. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
