Charles Isaac Lanham, Jr. passed in comfort to join his greatest treasure in life, his deceased wife, Greta Patton, on April 25, 2017. He was born in Durant, OK on September 22, 1930, to Charles I. Lanham Sr and Lillian Finley Lanham. He is survived by two children - his daughter, Sharon Lanham Stephens, and husband, Tom, of Fredericksburg, TX, and his son, David E. Lanham, and wife, Leslie, of Tulsa, OK. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren brought so much joy in his life: Brad Stephens of San Antonio, TX, Megan Denney, husband Josh, and their children, Samantha and Abigail of Reston, VA, Jessica Lanham of Houston, TX, and Allison Lanham and Brett Lanham, both of Tulsa.
"Chuck" was an Elder and Deacon of the Presbyterian Church and a member of Kirk of the Hills in Tulsa. He received a B.A. in Sociology from Oklahoma State University and married Greta upon graduation on May 27, 1950. His esteemed and proud lifetime career was with the Boy Scouts of America and included Scout Executive of Indian Nations Council here in Tulsa from 1971 - 1975, Scout Executive in Fargo, ND, and ended his career as Scout Executive in Baltimore, MD.
Upon retirement in 1991, Chuck and Greta moved back to their native state where they resided in Tulsa. They both became avid OSU football (went to ALL games at home and away for 20 years) and basketball fans. Some of their vacations were trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Germany, Austria, Australia, and New Zealand.
