Charles Eugene Myers passed away on April 17, 2021, at the age of 85, after a sudden illness.
He was born on June 11, 1935 in Commerce, Oklahoma to the late James Cecil Myers and Edna Ruth (Ware) Myers. He graduated from Riverton High School.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Grace Anne (Clark) Myers, and his five children, Glenn E. Myers, David E. Myers and wife, Marie, Joyce E. Sullivan and husband, Lloyd, Allen D. Myers and Carol A. Myers. He is also survived by his sister Delee Marrs, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was called Gene by his parents and Chuck by his many friends. He was active and had many varied interests. He was a member of the American Legion, Northeastern Oklahoma BMW Club, and Happy OK Wanderers Club. He and his wife enjoyed many years of traveling the country by motorhome and motorcycle. He was an avid ham radio operator and member of American Radio Relay League and the Family Motor Coach Association - Amateur Radio Chapter. His call sign was KW5I.
He will be fondly remembered by friends and family for his intelligence and the ability to fix just about anything. He was a proud retiree of the U.S. Navy where his rank was Senior Chief Petty Officer. He worked at Bell South in California and Tulsa. He chose to work for AT&T when they divested from Bell South and retired at the age of 55.
