Charles Robert Foster, 72, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018 in Broken Arrow, OK. He was born on Dec. 24, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA to Emory and Vivian Foster.
Charles was a retired service manager in the automotive industry, spending most of those years at Ford, and attended St. Pius X Catholic Church. He married Linda Sue Howell on June 7, 1969 in Tulsa, OK and raised two children, Rob and Melissa.
Charles was dedicated to both of his children's schooling and extra curricular activities, hardly ever missing Rob's music events or baseball games and traveling all over the country for Melissa's softball tournaments. You could always find him at Rob or Melissa's games with his team cap propped on top of his head and holding up one of the light posts, too nervous for his kids to sit during their games. And even as his children grew up and started families of their own, he would always be their biggest fan.
Later on he was the primary caretaker of his wife, Linda, as she struggled with MS. The love of his life passed away on March 20, 2014, and he then he joined the Grief Support Group at Moore Funeral Home. He greatly enjoyed those he met in the group and he truly loved leading and helping others through their grief. He hardly ever missed a meeting on Tuesday nights.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Howell) Foster, his parents, Emory and Vivian Foster and his in-laws, Earl and Norma Howell. He is survived by his son, Rob Foster and Ann Hart and their children - Vivian Paige, Nick, Shayna, Christien and Tyler and 2 grandchildren; his daughter, Melissa (Foster) Mosley and her husband, Seth and their children - Zachary and Megan; his brothers, Michael Foster; Elmer Foster and his wife, Patty and their children - Mary and Theresa and their families; his sister, Frances (Foster) Schramm and her children - Kathleen and Albert and their families.
The viewing will be Sunday, December 30th from Noon - 8pm at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK, with a Rosary at 4pm in the Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Viewing will also be available on Monday, December 31st from Noon - 8pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 2nd at 11am at St Pius X Catholic Church, 1721 S 75th E Ave, Tulsa, OK. Lunch reception will follow burial back at St Pius X Catholic Church.
