Obituary

Charles Martin Schoenfeldt passed away at his home in Claremore, Oklahoma Thursday evening, January 28th.

Charles and his identical twin, Emil, were born to Leora and Edward Schoenfeldt in Independence, Kansas on February 3, 1929. This was the beginning of a close yet competitive bond that led them both to play baseball through their years at Will Rogers High School, at Oklahoma A&M, and then in the American Legion baseball league. The brothers were Air Force ROTC while at Oklahoma A&M and both entered the Air Force after graduation.

After graduation with a business degree, Charles married his college sweetheart, Marilyn Jane Cleveland on September 29, 1949. After serving as a financial officer stateside during the Korean War, Charles and Marilyn moved to Tulsa where he received his Masters in Finance from Tulsa University. While there, they had two sons, Michael Carl and Patrick Charles.

While living in Tulsa, Charles was on the Board of Directors of Children's Medical Center for many years. After working for ONG for 30 years, Charles retired and they moved to Amarillo, then Dallas with Atmos Energy. After Marilyn's death in 1990, Charles returned to Tulsa.

In 1993, Charles married long-time friend Charlene Patrick on April 19, 1993. Charles became involved in Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Tulsa where Charlene had been a member for many years. They became founding members of Church of the Holy Spirit Anglican in 2005. They lived in Tulsa for about 15 years before moving to Claremore. His brother Emil passed away in 2008.

Charles was blessed to have had two strong, wonderful, yet very different women hold such significance in his life, and the lives of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Charlene, his sons, Michael and Patrick, and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Aaron, Nathan and Danielle.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 2nd at Church of the Holy Spirit Anglican at 12121 E 41st St, Tulsa, OK 74146 followed by a brief reception. At a later date, the remains will be interred at Memorial Park Cemetery at 5111 S Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK 74145. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at www.moorefuneral.com
