Charles Royce Stokes, 51, of Tulsa, OK, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 1977, at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital, Tulsa, OK. He was born on Tuesday, September 8, 1925, in Alicia, AR, to Charles W. Stokes and Florence (Tiffy) Stokes. Charles was proud to have served as one of our nation's finest in the United States Navy as a Seaman, First Class, in WWII. He was married to Margaret (Haynes) Stokes, and a truck driver for Anchor Concrete Company. Charles is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home; two daughters, Janice Northcutt of Tulsa, OK, and Carolyn Sue Lysene of Montana; two sonsa, Robert Stokes, and Paul Stokes, both of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren; father, Charles W. Stokes of Miami, OK; sister, Catherine DeMeritt of Bartlesville, OK; and a lifetime of friends. Charles will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
