Charles Richard "Dick" Turner, 57, of Broken Arrow, OK passed away on July 3, 2014 at his home. He was born on Sept. 19, 1956 in Maryville, MO to Beverly (Litsch) and Charles Robert "Pink" Turner. He married Cathy Inez Miller on August 28, 1981 in Miami, OK. He graduated from North Nodaway High School in Hopkins, MO in 1975 and then attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO.
He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Turner and his wife Cathy "GG" Turner. He is survived by his father Charles Robert "Pink" Turner of Muskogee, OK, his brother Robert Allen Turner and wife Geraldine "J.P." Turner of Fort Gibson, OK, his sister Beccy Baldwin and husband Jack of Hopkins, MO, his brother William T. "Tom" Turner and wife Dianne of Muskogee, OK, stepchildren Barbara Smith and husband Jeff and Cody Durham of Broken Arrow, OK, four grandchildren Shay Howland of Stillwater, OK, Seth Howland of Norman, OK, Savannah and Spencer Smith of Broken Arrow, OK, nine nieces and nephews and their spouses and children, an aunt and many cousins. He is also survived by the St. Louis Blues, NASCAR, Martina McBride, and the scores of people who were touched by his sense of humor and big heart.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Moore Funeral Home, 2570 South Harvard, Tulsa, OK 74114 with visitation at 1 PM and service to follow at 2:00. Monday, July 14, 2014 a celebration of life service will be held in his hometown of Hopkins, Missouri at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church. Visitation in Hopkins will be one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the name of Dick Turner at the Nodaway Valley Bank PO BX 700 304 North Main, Maryville MO 64468.
