Charles Raymond Althouse, "Chuck", 77 of Tulsa passed away Monday, July 22, 2024. He was born June 5, 1947, in Commerce, OK to Frank and Margaret Althouse. Chuck was a member of Eastland Baptist Church and retired from Tulsa County as a printing press operator. He also worked several years at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds as a part-time security guard. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting, reading, leatherworking, reloading ammo, drawing, photography and quilting. Chuck was a US Army veteran and served as a door gunner and mechanic. He served with 281st Assault Helicopter Company, Nha Trang, Viet Nam, the US Army's First Special Operations Helicopter Company. Chuck was very proud to have been a part of erecting an installation of The Moving Wall, a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, when it came to Tulsa in 1996.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sadie Mae Althouse; his children, Wendy Martin and husband Matt of Tulsa, Cherietta Rowbotham-Swar of Tulsa, Laurie Ann Althouse of Fairland, OK, Margaret "Cissy" Althouse and husband, Chris Booth, of Tulsa, Trixie Walls and husband Aaron of Tulsa; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Charles Raymond Althouse, Jr.; and his brother, William "Bill" Franklin Althouse.
