Obituary

Charlotte Louise Byrd, daughter of GE and Vivian Ione Jones, was born on August 27, 1944 at her home in Atkins, Arkansas. She passed away December 1, 2024 at OSU Medical Center.

Louise was the oldest of four, two of whom preceded her in death: her brother, Bill Jones and sister, Patricia Jones. She's survived by her younger sister, Ginny Jones.

Louise had 4 grandchildren: Steven Hammond and wife Monica, Taylar Ziegler and husband Cody, Savanah Cooksey and husband LaCruz, and Bailay Bryant and husband David.

Louise had 8 great-grandchildren: Laykan, Kayden, Tatum, Hudson, Parkar, Sebastian, Drew and Rosie.

Louise married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Byrd, September 11, 1965. Both attended McLain High School. They had two children: Charie, who married Chris Hammond; and Billy, who married Valarie. She also took care of Ronnie after he had a life-changing accident in 1979. She always found time for her children no matter what life threw her way. She also raised her children in church where they knew the love of the Lord and to rely on prayers and faith.

Louise enjoyed her time supporting Shriners Children's with her husband Ronnie who was a noble of Akdar Shrine Center of Tulsa. She worked at Interstate Financial right out of high school for a few years. She then went to Oklahoma Tire and Supply Company (Otasco) until they closed their doors and even stayed on to help finalize their closure. She then went to work at Works and Lentz where she retired in 2013. She filled her time in retirement by volunteering at Tulsa Casa and Gifted Gabbers.

Louise enjoyed crocheting, sewing, painting, gardening, and visiting with her friends and family. She thoroughly enjoyed her long conversations on her back porch with her family and friends. Louise loved supporting her kids and grandkids at various ballgames and school functions. She also enjoyed vacationing to Cozumel, a couple of cruises and Arkansas with her family and friends. She will truly be missed.
