Charlotte Elaine Brown (Charlene) was born October 29, 1946, in Little Rock Arkansas to Kathy (nee Talbert) and Arthur Brown and passed peacefully from this life on July 9, 2022. She overcame Cerebral Palsy and other birth related infirmities, to live an unusually long full life of 75 years.
She attended schools and developmental programs in Muskogee and Sunnyside and Eugene Field schools in Tulsa. As an adult she worked at the Handicapped Opportunity Workshop and other organizations tailored to special needs adults for more than 25 years. With the aid of her parents Charlene attended church regularly at First Baptist Church (Tulsa) and others.
In 1998 she moved from her parent's home to a group home managed by The Gatesway Foundation and lived there until late 2021 when Premier Community Services began managing her needs through the same staff, home and house mates. During this time, she benefited from the company of 2 house mates and staff managing their unique special needs.
Charlene would want to give special thanks to Jowana Snoddy and Jackie Melton each at different times a House Manager of her home for the unconditional love and care they showed her. Also, the many staff members and program directors who cared for her over the years and contributed to and enabled her long life.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents Kathy and Arthur Brown and brother Robert. She is survived by her brother George (Gail) Brown and their children Jennifer (Steve) Davis (Edmond), Kevin (Shelly) Brown, Katie (Van) Allen and Sarah (Jared) Jordan and her 10 grand nieces and nephews (Edmond and Tulsa). And, her brother Robert's wife Nancy Clark Brown (Poteau) and daughters Laura Brown (Tulsa) and Julie Clark (Matt) Bush (Portland).
