Cheryl Patrick Hawkins
1952 - 2023
Cheryl Patrick Hawkins was born January 20, 1952 in Laurel, Mississippi. Cheryl passed away peacefully after an acute illness on April 21, 2023.
She grew up in Houston, Texas, graduating from Spring Branch High School in 1970 and the University of Texas in 1974 with her bachelor's degree in Nursing. Her skills and dedication were superbly displayed in the ICU in Herman Hospital in Houston where she met her husband, Don Hawkins.
Don and Cheryl were united in marriage in 1979 and moved to Tulsa the following year to start a career and family together. Cheryl became a devoted wife and mother to their two children, Lindsey Michelle and Bryan Patrick.
She was an enthusiastic supporter of her children's academic and sporting endeavors and achieved a sense of purpose and fulfillment in guiding their growth and development. She adored her grandchildren and found great joy in being called "Nana." Cheryl was intelligent, but equally kind, charming, elegant and beautiful. She was a loyal friend and a wonderful conversationalist.
Cheryl was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa and served in the junior league of Tulsa. She enjoyed playing tennis at the Tulsa Tennis Club and Southern Hills Country Club.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her mother and father, Lillie Mae (Weems) and Hollis Patrick. She is survived by her husband Don Hawkins; daughter Lindsey McIntosh and son-in-law Scott McIntosh; son, Bryan Hawkins and daughter-in-law, Jaye Bea (Downs) Hawkins; brother Hollis Glenn Patrick; grandchildren Amelia and Alexis McIntosh, and James and John Hawkins.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa 708 S. Boston Avenue on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. With a reception to follow.
