Obituary

Chester Ray Poling, Jr. left this world on February 7, 2012 after a short illness. He was born on January 4, 1929 in Red Rock, Oklahoma to Chester Ray Poling and Elsie Starkey Poling and moved to Tulsa in 1942.

He married Mary Ann Scott on June 10, 1949 in a double wedding with James McClelland and Billie Jo Pruitt. Ray was a longtime member of Woodlake Assembly of God Church. He retired from Ross Martin Printing in 1992. He spent his summers gardening and loved to cook for family and friends. We won't forget his chili.

Ray is survived by his wife of 62 years; one son, Michael Ray Poling and his wife Joan Bozarth Poling of Tulsa and their daughter and son-in-law Rachael Marie and Hans Stockenberger of Austin, TX; daughter Deborah Poling Scott of Houston and her sons Benjamin Bass Douglas and Zachary Bass Douglas and daughter-in-law Natalie Jones Douglas of Austin; and daughter Vicki Louise Bradshaw and her husband Robert Bradshaw and their children, Christina Nicole, Michael Joseph, William Robert, and Samuel Scott Bradshaw, all of Houston. He is also survived by two sisters, Ina Belle Rist and her husband Richard of Colorado Springs, CO; Roberta M. Poling and her husband Perry of Yukon, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his father, mother, and two sisters, Lois Cale and Georgia Roberts. Ray leaves a host of family and friends who will miss him in so many ways.
