Obituary

Christa Rae Thompson passed peacefully through the veil on March 3, 2017, and joyfully rejoined her parents, John Robert "Bob" Bowers and Nellie Juanita (McCallister) Bowers, sisters Kathryn "Kathy" Louise Bowers and Judith Karen Johnston, first husband, Michael "Mike" Thomas Ellison, twin nephews Dustin Kyle Clark and Kevin Shawn Clark, grandparents, and other family members.

Christa was born on May 31, 1953, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She attended Bartlesville public schools and was a graduate of College High School (now Bartlesville High School). Christa married Michael "Mike" Thomas Ellison in 1975. After his death in 1978, Christa married William Craig Thompson in 1985, who adopted her daughters Rachael Nicole and Corrie Michele. They were blessed with two more children, Taylor Ayne and Forrest Laster.

As a child, Christa's mother, a piano teacher, wanted Christa to take piano lessons, but Christa insisted she be given dance lessons instead. Dance continued to be a significant part of her life, and one of Christa's greatest thrills was to perform with her granddaughters, Raeleigh and Ellison, in a dance recital in May of last year.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Christa served in many positions through the years, including working with youth whom she dearly loved in the Young Women's organization and as a Seminary teacher.

Christa had a great fondness for nature, especially flowers, birds, Monarch butterflies, animals, and camping in the mountains of Colorado, which she had done as a child with her parents and continued doing with her husband and children throughout the rest of her life.

She was continually working on one or more knitting, crocheting, quilting, or other craft projects, and especially enjoyed making gifts for family members and friends.

Christa's greatest happiness was her family. She loved having them around her and watching them grow. She will be greatly missed by all of them and her many friends. She truly never met a stranger.

Christa is survived by husband: William Craig Thompson; daughters: Rachael Nicole Mariani and wife Isis Bergada of Orlando, FL; Corrie Michele Beeman and husband Christopher Beeman of Broken Arrow, OK; Taylor Ayne Rouanzion and husband Matthew Rouanzion of Lexington, KY; son: Forrest Laster Thompson of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren: Craig Michael Mariani, John Patrick Mariani, Raeleigh Jade Beeman, Cian Case Beeman, Zoey Ellison Beeman, Noah Westley Rouanzion, and Westley Tyler Thompson; and brother: Bryon Kirk Bowers and his wife, Loretta L. of Peggs, OK.
