Christine Vander Lind, born July 3, 1936, in Hastings, Michigan, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on December 16, 2024. She was the cherished daughter of Robert and Leona McGlocklin and grew up alongside her brother and two sisters.
Christine earned a Bachelor's degree in music from Western Michigan University, a testament to her lifelong passion for music. In the summer of 1958, while working as a camp counselor in Michigan, she met the love of her life. They married in 1960 and began a beautiful journey together that spanned decades. In 1968, they settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they built a loving home and raised their three children: Michael, Stephanie, and Jennifer.
Christine was known for her unwavering faith, which guided her throughout her life. Her love for music through piano and her beautiful opera voice was not only a personal joy but also a gift she shared with others. Above all else, Christine treasured her family deeply and found immense happiness in their company.
Her legacy of love, faith, and music will continue to inspire those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Leona McGlocklin, her brother David, her sisters Anita and DeLores, and her grandsons Devon Farrah and Ryan Sparks.
She is survived by her husband, James Vander Lind; son, Michael Vander Lind; daughters Stephanie Sparks, and Jennifer Vander Lind; grandchildren Tyler Sparks, Aariel Paige, Nicole Tolson and Austin Vander Lind; great-grandson Hunter Allen; and great-granddaughters Lenny and Logan Sparks.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Christine on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Asbury Chapel at noon. A viewing will be held from 10:30 - 11:30 on Friday at Moore Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared online at
