We celebrate the life of Christopher Allen Dodge, loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, friend and companion. Chris passed away December 19th, 2018 at the young age of 41. In his short time on earth he positively impacted the lives of so many people.
Chris was born on May 4, 1977 to Karen and Jerry Dodge, baby brother to Lisa. He attended St. Pius X, Saint Mary's, and Booker T. Washington schools. Later he earned a degree in Culinary Arts from OSU Tech-Okmulgee.
Chris was passionate about golfing, cooking, attending Magic: The Gathering competitions, playing poker and gin rummy and being with his many friends. He also loved visiting San Diego, exploring the Sonoma Wine Country and cheering for the Tulsa Drillers, OKC Thunder, OSU Cowboys and the New York Jets. He was an active member of the Tulsa Country Club.
Chris was a very generous young man who lived life to the fullest; he had a great sense of humor and was well liked by everyone, often being "the life of the party". He especially enjoyed creating amazing costumes for his annual Halloween parties. Chris was an avid dog lover.
Professionally, Chris was best known as a gifted chef and the co-owner of Pharma-Chef Catering and Fat Guy's Burger Bar with Mike Meehan. His knowledge of spices and seasonings consistently created award winning burgers and fries. Chris developed an interest in cooking in high school, working at The Outback and Atlantic Sea Grill. After receiving his Culinary Arts degree, he developed a special talent for inventing new recipes and menu ideas. Chef Dodge helped create delicious menu items for new Tulsa restaurants such as In The Raw, En Fuego, Fusion, Lola's, The Grapevine, Leon's and the Gulf Club of Oklahoma. He briefly moved to NYC to open Churchill's Restaurant, but later returned to Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Lorene Dodge, and Kenneth and Cora Clark, his aunt Janet Conner, his uncle Pete Tartarini, and several fur babies.
Chris is survived by his parents Jerry and Karen Dodge, his sister, Lisa Lutke and her husband Roy, nephew Nicholas Lutke, niece Ashley Lutke, loving companion Mary Catherine Kindred, aunts Pat Benge, Judy Shafferkoetter, Judy Tartarini, Gina Clark, uncles Sid Benge, Don Shafferkoetter, Ken Clark and of course his adoring dogs, Ginger and Teddy. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10 A.M. at the Church Of The Madalene, 3188 East 22nd Street S., Tulsa, OK 74114. Burial at Calvary Cemetery 9101 S. Harvard.
A celebration of Chris' life will be held at noon at Agora Event Center 1402 S. Peoria.
