C Lyn Larson, born November 25, 1951 to Robert C. and Mary C. Larson, died April 18 at her home in Tulsa after complications from Parkinson's disease. Lyn was independent, self-determined, free spirited, fun-loving, and deeply committed to social, moral, and racial justice in both her personal and professional life. Lyn's adventurous nature led her to South Padre Island Texas where she stayed for eight years of beach life and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Pan American University. After returning to Tulsa to be closer to her parents, Lyn focused her work on promoting housing for low income and minority populations. She worked with the Tulsa Community Council and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to promote affordable housing for people in need. After more than two decades working for HUD Lyn retired as a senior management analysist. Lyn also loved animals of all kinds and always had a devoted dog by her side. Lyn channeled her fun-loving spirit into support for Living Arts of Tulsa ArtCar weekends. Her ArtCar the "Tocame Troka" (the touch me truck) is painted and bedazzled with jewels and could always be found participating in and sometimes leading the parade on ArtCar weekends and events like Boo Ha Ha, MLK day, Pride, and Mardi Gras. Lyn encouraged community kids to participate in decorating her car by adding a few more jewels. Lyn's family plans to take her ashes to South Padre Island and celebrate her life. We invite all who knew Lyn to celebrate her life in a way that honors her memory and consider directing donations to ArtCar (<
