Clarence John McCoy, 77, of Tulsa, OK, passed away Monday, November 7, 1977. He was born on Sunday, January 28, 1900, in Meeker, CO, to John McCoy and Mary Alice (Waters) McCoy. Clarence was a member of East Side Church of Christ, and retired Chief Engineer for the Noble Drilling Corp. He began his career at Noble Drilling Corp in 1934 at Rangely, CO. He was transferred to Tulsa, in 1936. He retired in 1963. Mr. McCoy was credited with developing motor electric riggs for the company.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite (McNew) McCoy, of the home; son, Dr. Clarence John McCoy, Jr. or Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Mrs. Janet Snow and husband, Donald T. of Tulsa, OK; 5 grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Helen Christie of Torrance, CA; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
