Cleo Shirley Ess was born on January 13, 1942, in Shidler, OK to Ovie and Bertha (Yeakley) Brown. She passed into Heaven on March 22, 2019, at the age of 77.
Shirley graduated from Jenks High School and attended college at Oklahoma State University. She worked as an accountant with her husband at Ess Bookkeeping and Tax Service, and played the piano and sang in choir at several churches, giving her talent to the Lord. She loved trees, and especially aspen trees in the fall, Grand Lake, reading and watching mysteries, and mostly, taking loving care of her family.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Ess, her son Brian Ess, as well as sisters, Carol Foy, Zetta Rowland, Colleen Heller, Janet Melton, and brother Larry Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to Meals on Wheels. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 and funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 27, at 1:30 PM, both at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
