Obituary

Clinton C. Hays, 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 with family by his side. Clint
was born July 3, 1931 in Enid, OK, to Cecil Clifford and Opha Mabel (Ivey) Hays.

He was a 1949 graduate of Enid High School in Enid, OK. After high school Clint joined the
45th Infantry Division of the Oklahoma Army National Guard, and was ordered into active duty
service in the Korean War. After the service Clint attended and graduated from Oklahoma A&M
College, now Oklahoma State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
in 1956.

In 1975 Clint opened his own electrical motor sales business: Hays, Elder, Sibley Company, Inc.
Clint was a charismatic businessman and an intuitive investor. He greatly enjoyed analyzing the
stock market, and worked as a stockbroker for some time. Clint and Verla were members of
Woodland Acres Baptist Church and members for 40 years at Oaks Country Club. He enjoyed
many years of golfing at the club, becoming Men's Club champion in 1971, as well as shooting
under his age four separate times at the Oaks course. Clint was a member of Eta Kappa Nu, an
international honor society for Electrical Engineering, and Sigma Tau, an engineering honor
society.

In his retirement, Clint enjoyed spending time with his loving family and grandchildren. He took
several golfing vacations, including Pebble Beach, CA, St Andrews, Scotland and Pinehurst, NC.
He was able to attend the Masters and various other golf tournaments, especially enjoying the
PGA at Southern Hills.

Clint's love and passion was his family. He guided them in how to learn, live and love. It was
common for one of his many family members to come to him for encouragement, direction and
advice. They also surrounded him to hear his stories, laugh at his jokes, or listen earnestly when
he talked about how blessed he was to have his family. Clint welcomed everyone; he believed
everyone was unique and had their own special talent and beauty. Clint loved baby animals and
all things young and innocent. Clint was known by many as "Joker" as he loved to laugh and
loved playing games.

Clint is survived by his wife of 63 years, Verla (George) Hays; his son and daughter-in-law,
Coy and Kelly Hays of Bixby, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jay Wiese of Tulsa, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Rick King of Zachary, LA; and daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and William Ardrey of Trophy Club, TX. Clint is survived by his 10 grandchildren
