Colleen Delores Abbott, 93, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026. She was born on March 10, 1933, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Melvin and Faye Padgett.
In 1950, Colleen married James Abbott, Jr. Together, they were blessed with a son, Timothy J. Abbott, and a daughter, Tina Marie Abbott (Looney). Colleen was a loving wife and devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for and loving her family.
Colleen was a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, for 70 years before moving to Tahlequah in 2020, where she spent the final years of her life.
Colleen's greatest joy was spending time with her family. Some of her favorite memories were made during family holidays, surrounded by the people she loved most. She was an avid and devoted OU Sooner fan and loved cheering on her beloved team. She also enjoyed watching golf and treasured the simple pleasures of spending time with her family.
Her greatest passion was her family. She loved each and every one of them with all her heart, and her love was felt deeply by everyone who knew her. Her beautiful smile was one of the many things that made Colleen so special and brought warmth and happiness to those around her.
Throughout her 93 years, Colleen touched many lives with her love, kindness, and caring spirit. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Faye Padgett; her beloved husband, James Abbott, Jr.; her brothers, Nathan Padgett and M.C. Padgett; her sisters, Betty Duvall and Naomi Moseby; her sisters-in-law, Leora Padgett and Erma Padgett; and her brothers-in-law, Alfred Duvall and Joseph Moseby.
She leaves behind her loving son, Tim Abbott and wife Donna, and her loving daughter, Tina Looney and husband Joedan. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dalton Looney and wife Ari, Jake Looney and wife Sara, and Meghan Squires and husband Justin; and her great-grandchildren, Daxton Looney, Waylyn Looney, Hunter Squires, and Dawson Looney.
Colleen's family was her greatest treasure, and the love she shared with them will continue through the generations. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the traditions cherished, and the love she instilled in those who knew her.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A graveside service will be held at 12 noon, Monday, October 5, 2026 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa.
