Colton Gene Herzfeld, age 21, passed from this earthly life on December 6th, 2012. HIs memory will live on in those who loved him and knew him best. The heavens rejoiced at his arrival and Colton's pain and struggles are no more. He is finally at peace.
Colton was born to Curtis Gene Herzfeld and Elizabeth (Merrywell) Herzfeld on January 31st, 1991, making their small family an 'even number of four' as he was greeted at home by big brother Preston. The little blonde-headed bundle had his parent's hearts from day one. He was a quiet child that loved chocolate milk, animals, and enjoyed the outdoors. He was the apple of his grandparent's eye as well and enjoyed time spent with each of them. He made excellent grades in school, played baseball for many years (his dad was coach), loved the ocean and swimming, and enjoyed car shows and racing...a passion he also shared with his dad. Colton's love for animals was never more evident than in his love for Nina, his canine; they were inseparable!
Colton was a shy young man in a loud and boisterous family but still managed to love us anyway. He will always be remembered for his quiet reserve and dedication to those he cared for. We were privileged to have Colton in our lives if even for such a short time.
Surviving family members include his father, Curt Herzfeld, mother, Elizabeth Merrywell, brother Preston Brady, along with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins from both his paternal and maternal side of the family.
