Connie Bea Hill (nee Osborn) was born March 28, 1926, at Morningside Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Otis and Hyacinth Osborn. She graduated from Central High School in 1944 and continued her education at Tulsa University (TU) for two years. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority while at TU. Connie had two older brothers that had a particular friend, Bob (Robert) Hill, with whom she reacquainted during High School. They became engaged prior to him entering World War II and married on June 19, 1946, upon his return. From their union came their son R. Douglas Hill and daughter Carolyn Hill Brackin. They were married 56 years before Bob's death.
Connie immersed herself in raising her family while staying active in the community. She was a volunteer at the Tulsa Psychiatric Center for several years which garnered her award of Volunteer of the Year. She was a member of the Seed and Weed Garden Club and the Yaya Bridge Club, along with being a poll worker during elections. Additionally, she was active in her children's social and athletic activities. Connie was an avid bridge player and was in a bowling league for several years. She was also notorious for making her daughter or granddaughter stay up all night playing gin until she beat them.
At the age of one, her father built the third cabin at Cedar Crest Country Club near Locust Grove, Oklahoma. The cabin always had a special place in Connie's heart as she grew up going there and creating many memories. The cabin has gone through renovations to accommodate her growing family. Her legacy will be continued through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Connie is reunited with her husband, Bob Hill, brothers Dell and Jack, parents Otis and Hyacinth Osborn and Auntie Bea. She is survived by her children Doug Hill (Joyce) and Carolyn Brackin both of Tulsa. Connie's grandchildren are: Grant Hill (Christine) of Tulsa, Garrett Hill (Linda) of Dallas, Clark and Laura Brackin of Tulsa. Her great-grandchildren are: Madison and Peyton Hill of Tulsa, Milo Brackin of Tulsa, Blair and Pierce Hill of Dallas. Special thanks to Liz Dillingerfor her care, concern, and devotion in staying by Connie's side for 3 years and Suncrest Hospice for their exemplary care and support. We will miss you Mom.
