Obituary

Corinne Virginia (Crone) Prentice went to her eternal home with the Lord Jesus Christ on November 4, 2025. She was born in Baltimore, MD on December 30, 1932. Her parents were Lawrence and Corinne Crone. She attended Eastern all girls High School and the Maryland Institute College of Art, majoring in Fashion Design. She designed many of her clothes without patterns. She also attended Strayer Business College and worked at Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. until she married.

Corinne met James H. Prentice, Jr at a dance at Ft Meade Army Base and later were married in 1952. They lived in Monongahela, PA and raised 3 children, Gary, Carol And Aaron. Corinne was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, gardener, and community volunteer. She supported her children in all of their activities including cub scouts, 4-H, BMX, church and school events. She loved living in the country and cared for many stray cats and dogs. Eventually, with a friend, she managed a cat shelter for many years.

Foremost, Corinne was a Godly woman whose faith carried her through many trials and hardships. Throughout her life, her prayers and actions were a testimony of her faith in God whether it was teaching Sunday school classes or talking with friends at the kitchen table or on the phone.

Corinne's legacy of love, strength, perseverance, long suffering, faith and kindness will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Prentice, Jr. and is survived by Gary Prentice and Aaron Prentice of Lake Placid, FL, Carol Oxford and husband, John of Tulsa, OK, granddaughters Melissa Fenton and husband Kaine, Shannon Oxford and one great grandson, Hayden. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor, and many nieces and nephews.

Her family wishes to thank Complete Hospice OK, Cindy, Tina, and Roy especially for the wonderful care they provided Corinne in her final days.
