Obituary

Cornelius Carl Hartman, "Neil", 84, of Owasso, OK, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019. He was born on November 17, 1935, in Scranton, PA, to Henry J. Hartman and Minerva E. (Howell) Hartman. Neil was proud to have served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army where he served in the Vietnam war, spent 14 years overseas, earned 5 Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and 3 Expert Qualification Marksmanship Badges, and retired on May 31, 1974. He was an Aviation & Power Plant (A&P) Technician instructor. Neil married the love of his life, Erica Renate (Steiner) Hartman on June 30, 1956, in Boeblingen, Germany, and they shared 63 years of adventures and memories together, upon his passing. He was a member of the German American Society and NRA. Neil enjoyed traveling with Erica in their RV to many exciting locations, including Canada and Alaska. He was an excellent aviator and private pilot. Neil loved his cats, and he even had squirrels that lived around his home that would crawl up into his lap and eat nuts. Neil valued his friendships and relationships, and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and his greatest passion was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Erica Renate Hartman; sons, Neil Hartman and wife, Maryann of Owasso, OK, and Eric Hartman and wife, Rene� of Claremore, OK; daughter, Patricia "Patty" Mullins and husband, Jim of Sapulpa, OK; three grandchildren, Kellie Purtell, Cody Mullins, Kelsey Hill and husband, Anthony; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Ethel VanBuskirk of Scranton, PA, and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Delores and Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to "Street Cats" or the "German American Society."
