Obituary

Corrine Eleanor (Agricola) Stuart, 87, passed away on May 12th, 2016. Corrine was a loving wife to her husband John for 57 years, until his death, and wonderful mother to John, Karen, and Debbie. Corrine was born on January 25th, 1929 in Boston, MA to John and Lillian (Botteri) Agricola. She was the second oldest sister to the late Mary, Sammy, Grace (Brigandi), and Joe. She lived in South Boston until John's career with Cities Services moved them and their family to Philadelphia, PA and ultimately to Tulsa, OK.

Despite living in Tulsa for over 30 years, she held on to her distinguishing Boston accent. Corrine was quite fashionable and her one complaint of living in the warmer Tulsa climate was the lack of opportunities to wear her mink stole. Her love for fashion combined with her frugal nature led her to excel in finding a great bargain. She was an excellent seamstress and owned a fabric store "Fabric's by Corrine" for a number of years. Corrine was an avid bridge player and she and John enjoyed square dancing and traveling across the country in their RV.

Music was a large part of Corrine's life; when near her one could often hear her humming a tune, most likely a song from her favorite show Lawrence Welk, which she made sure to never miss. One of Corrine's greatest loves was her family. She flawlessly hosted countless family gatherings for all holidays, ensuring there was a variety of cuisine from her Italian heritage, such as Cannolis, Pizzelles, and meatballs. Trivia games were often played at these events and the very smart Corrine was quick to answer, notoriously answering for both teams, which her family grew to expect (and get a good laugh over).

She was survived by her children John J. Stuart (Jody), Karen Franseen, and Debbie Stuart all of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren Desiree Franseen, Derek Franseen, John Bradley Stuart (Morgan), and Joe Stuart (Emily); great-grandchild Brodie Stuart, and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Stuart, her parents, brothers, and sisters.
