Coy Dwain Beller, 73, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2019 surrounded with family.
Coy was born in Pauls Valley, OK on October 13, 1945, the youngest of 6 kids to Arthur "Howard" and Rossie (Covel) Beller.
Coy was raised mainly in Norman, OK near the University of Oklahoma which became his passion- OU Football. He would wake up on Saturday mornings to the sound of the OU Band and he knew it was going to be a great day. As a young teenager he would hang out around the OU stadium and "helped" sell tickets for the home games. Coy never lost his passion for OU sports. Coy's biggest passion in life was his grandkids and great grandkids; he could talk about them all day.
In 1963 Coy met and married the late Flora Price. From this marriage 3 daughters were born: Melinda, Melissa and Melody. In 1965 Coy completed barber college and worked as a barber until his passing. Over the years Coy owned and operated several barber shops in the Norman, Ardmore, Duncan areas and his last one, "Coy's 71st Barber Shop" in Tulsa, where he'd lived the last several years of his life.
Coy is survived by his daughters, Melinda (Johnny) Boyer, Melissa (John) Aycox of Ardmore, OK and Melody (Alan) Sandefur of Madill, OK. His sisters Norma Davis of Yukon, OK and Bernice Loyd of Rush Springs, OK. Eight grandkids, Nine great grandkids, several special nieces and nephews and special friends.
Graveside Services will be Monday June 24th, 2019 at Griffin Hillcrest at 2pm with viewing on Sunday June 23rd. Viewing with family visitation will be Thursday June 20th , 2019 from 6pm -8pm at Moore Southlawn Chapel, Tulsa OK.
Pallbearers will be John Aycox, Kaleb Aycox, Johnny Boyer, Jordan Boyer, Wil Simpson, Chris Smith, Nick Tubbs. Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandchildren. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at
