Obituary

GLASSCO, Curtis L., 88, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Tulsa, OK. Born January 23, 1926 in Broken Bow, OK to George Porter and Pearl (Campbell) Glassco. He served in the US Navy during WWII stationed at Pearl Harbor Naval Hospital. He was a member of the DAV and American Legion. Graduate of University of Oklahoma with Bachelors in Zoology and a Master's in Education. He met his wife, Grenada while both pursued their Master's Degree at OU. He taught school at Newkirk, Wewoka, Seminole and Tulsa in a career spanning 35 years. He served as class sponsor for several classes at McClain Sr. High in Tulsa and Seminole High School. Past President of Ranch Acres Lions Club, 32 Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. He served as past chairman for the Oklahoma Human Right Commission and also INCOG Criminal Justice Committee.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grenada Wilbanks Day Glassco in 1997; daughter, Betty Day Perkins; granddaughter, Abigail Glassco; sisters, Stella, Dorothy, Clovis, Inez, Opal and Derleen. Survived by his wife, Elila Newton Glassco; children, Ann Day Leakey and husband, Steven of The Woodlands, TX, Hon. Kurt G. Glassco and wife, Kathy of Tulsa, OK, and Dana Owens Bean and husband, Michael of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Nat Leakey of Dallas, TX, Beth Leakey Fridley of the The Woodlands, TX, Cary Leakey Mollinedo of Spring, TX, Drew P. Leakey of Austin, TX, Katie Armour of Owasso, OK, Molly Glassco, Jennifer Glassco, Libby Owens, and Taylor Owens, all of Tulsa, OK; great- grandchildren, Davis, Carter, and Olivia Fridley, Aldan, Seth, and Gabriel Armour, Charlotte, Georgia, Elise, and Kate Leakey, Clara and Charlie Mollinedo.
