Curtis B. Moyer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 14, 1934, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, to Harry J. and Elizabeth (Clausner) Moyer. Curtis graduated from Uniontown High School in 1954, where he met his high school sweetheart, Dolores. They were married on May 28, 1955. The couple moved to Amarillo, Texas, where Curtis completed his service in the United States Air Force. They later lived briefly in Chicago, Illinois, before settling in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Curtis began his career as an instructor at Spartan School of Aeronautics before joining American Airlines, where he worked for 35 years. He retired in 1996 as a Senior Inspector.

During their early years in Tulsa, Curtis and Dolores welcomed their daughter, Sharon, and their son, Bruce.

When Curtis wasn't attending one of his children's activities, he was usually at Fort Gibson Lake. Over the years, he always had a boat and progressed from tent camping to campers and eventually to owning two lake properties. He especially loved "The Cabin" at Long Bay. Countless family members, including Dolores who never learned to swim, enjoyed days on the water with Curtis, learning to water ski under his patient instruction. Curtis treasured family gatherings, whether at the cabin or during the holidays.

After his family, Curt's greatest passion was vehicles. He loved cars, trucks, and just about anything with an engine, and he surely owned hundreds of vehicles throughout his lifetime. He was also a lifelong aviation enthusiast. In his later years, he enjoyed sitting in the yard watching airplanes approach Tulsa International Airport and attending air shows whenever he could.

Curtis and Dolores were longtime members of the Candlewood Club before joining the Tulsa Elks Club in 1997. They were known as wonderful dancers and never missed an opportunity to dance the night away with friends. Curtis especially loved Big Band music, with a particular fondness for the saxophone. The Elks community became an extension of their family, creating many cherished friendships and memories.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harry; and his sisters, Betty and Joan.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy Machosky (Jim); his daughter, Sharon DeGroot (Lee); his son, Bruce B. Moyer; his grandchildren, Blake Cloud (Kaleia), Josh DeGroot, Alicia DeGroot Patrick, Hayley Tims (Reed), and Mason Moyer (Kady); his great-grandchildren, Rayden and Laikyn Holloway, Eastyn Tims, Bruce C. and Beau Moyer, and Jackson and Rush Patrick; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Viewing for Curtis will be on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with family present to receive friends from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145 with Reverend Roland Depew officiating. Burial will follow the service at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
