Obituary

Curtis Luke "Curt" Roberts, 73, a beloved husband, father, Papi, and longtime Tulsa-area real estate professional, passed away on June 21, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family. He was known for his deep knowledge of land and development, his gift for mentoring others, and the many meaningful relationships he built over the course of his life.

Born on January 3, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas, Curt was the oldest son of Curtis Hirk Roberts, whose priorities of "God, Family, and Country" profoundly shaped Curt's own approach to life. His mother, Lotta Eao Roberts, was a proud Texan who loved to remind him, "Remember, no matter where you live, you will always be a Texan first," a sentiment he carried with him throughout his life. He grew up in a close-knit family that eventually settled in Tulsa in 1968. He shared lifelong bonds with his siblings Cheryl Monet Roberts, Roddy Roy Roberts, James Hirk Roberts, and Angela Jane Haney. Over the years, Curt made his home and built deep roots across the Tulsa metropolitan area and Northeast Oklahoma.

Curt first married Susan Keath Berry, and together they raised two children, Garth Adam Roberts and Rachel (Roberts) Tatro. He was preceded in death by his son Garth, who died at age 14 in 1995, and by Susan, who died in 2005. Curt is survived by his daughter, Rachel Tatro, and her husband Don, who carry forward his legacy of family devotion and community-mindedness.

On May 14, 2006, Curt married Linda Sue Roberts. From that day forward, he embraced Linda's children as his own, becoming "Papi" to Tessa (Travis) Moss, Thad (Donna) Brollier, and Tucker (Lauren) Brollier. He is survived by his grandchildren, Elizabeth Moss, Tripp Moss, Corey Kent, Tristan Brollier, Ashtyn Brollier, Jack Brollier, Luke Tatro, and Kit Tatro, each of whom knew him as a steady presence who showed up for milestones, hunts, travels, and everyday moments.

Curt graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1975 and quickly entered the Tulsa real estate world, where he built a five-decade career. His early work in land development included planning, zoning, and platting more than 30 residential subdivisions, as well as owning and operating an Earthwork company, helping to shape the growth of Tulsa and its neighboring communities. He owned and operated multiple building companies for more than 20 years and worked on numerous commercial and light office projects, giving him a broad and practical understanding of the real estate landscape.

For 26 years, Curt served as a licensed residential real estate appraiser, earning a reputation for careful, trustworthy work that clients and colleagues relied upon. Around age 58, encouraged by a friend, he made a major transition: releasing his appraisal license, while still building and developing, and moving into real estate sales and brokerage. Joining McGraw Realtors as a Broker Associate, he became known as a "deal junky," top producer, and "deal maker" who could shepherd difficult transactions to closing through persistence, creativity, and a calm, practical style. He focused heavily on commercial land, leveraging his development and appraisal background to guide buyers and sellers through complex decisions.

Curt's life, though marked by professional achievement, was defined even more by his character and his relationships. He was a sportsman at heart, most at home outdoors. He loved to hunt, shoot sporting clays, hike, ski, and cheer on the Oklahoma State Cowboys at football games. Time in the field or on the mountain was never just about the sport-it was about companionship, teaching, and shared experiences that strengthened bonds across generations. His humor was legendary; he loved good food, good company, and was known to joke, "You don't get a body like this eating things like that," a line that never failed to get a laugh from the people who loved him most.

At home, Curt was the family's favorite craft cocktail maker. He took joy in perfecting recipes and in crafting drinks tailored to the tastes of those he loved. His skill behind the bar became a kind of hospitality ministry, turning ordinary evenings into warm, memorable gatherings and giving friends and family one more reason to linger together.

Curt lived to serve, inspire, and mentor other people. He built relationships that were not only vast but deep, pouring time, wisdom, and encouragement into everyone he knew. Many would describe him as the person they called for guidance-whether about land deals, life decisions, or spiritual and practical questions. His impact is felt in the lives and careers he helped shape, the families he supported through complex transitions, and the young people he encouraged to aim higher and persevere.

Curt was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Hirk Roberts; his mother, Lotta Eao Roberts; his sister, Cheryl Monet Roberts; his first wife, Susan Keath Berry Roberts; and his son, Garth Adam Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Roberts; his daughter, Rachel (Don) Tatro; and children, Tessa (Travis) Moss, Thad (Donna) Brollier, and Tucker (Lauren) Brollier; his grandchildren Elizabeth Moss, Tripp Moss, Corey Kent, Tristan Brollier, Ashtyn Brollier, Jack Brollier, Luke Tatro, and Kit Tatro; his siblings, Roddy Roy Roberts, James Hirk Roberts, and Angela Jane Haney; his stepmother, Pat Roberts; and a wide circle of extended family, fellow sportsmen, clients, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Curt's life will be held at Southern Hills Baptist Church on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember, and give thanks for a life well-lived - a life marked by service, integrity, and love.
