Cynthia Ann Briscoe was born on April 18, 1951, and passed peacefully at home on January 30, 2024. She was the second of four children born to Stan and Jane Brassfield and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Hale High School. Cynthia and her family were active members of First Baptist Church in Tulsa, where she met the love of her life, Bill Briscoe at a swimming fellowship, where she was impressed by his swimming prowess. She attended Baylor University for a year before marrying Bill on August 1, 1970. Cynthia graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Music at University of Houston, and then she and Bill moved to San Diego, CA, where their first child was born. In 1977, Cynthia and Bill returned to Tulsa, where they raised their five children. She was a homemaker, who specialized in baking, homeschooling, piano playing and accompaniment, and teaching piano, and her greatest joy was her relationship with Jesus Christ. In her spare time, she very much enjoyed swimming, sharing the Gospel, practicing her Spanish, taking mission trips to Honduras, and travel with her family to beaches in Florida, California, and Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stan and Jane Brassfield, and sister, Julia Shackelford. She is survived by her husband, Bill; children: Bill (Monica) Briscoe and children Will, Heidi, Joseph, and L; Christy (Sam) Williams and children David, Peter, Emma, Michael, Alyssa, and Grace; Judah (Miranda) Briscoe; Esther (David) Taylor and children Zach, Evan, and Nathaniel; Stephen (Lexi) Briscoe and son Shepherd; brothers: Scott Brassfield, Kirk (Debbie) Brassfield, and many other loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
