Dale Kenneth Claar, age 94, was born April 2, 1923, in Rexford, Kansas to Ralph Silas and Esta Burgess Claar. He died August 19, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Laura Marie (Montague) Claar, and two brothers, Bard and Gordon Claar. He leaves a son, Victor Claar of Hillsboro, Oregon and daughter, Beth Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma, also three granddaughters, Andrea Beaty, Stacy Fitzgerald, and Laura Claar, as well as two great-grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in World War Il on a Liberty ship stationed off of Anzio Beach, Italy.
Dale was a devout Christian with his last church affiliation was at Scofield Church of Dallas Texas. He and his wife served faithfully, supporting missionaries all over the world. He graduated from Rockmont College, Colorado, and retired from Sun Oil Company.
His hobby and passion was tennis and he continued to play until the age of 81. After that, he watched tennis daily on television, keeping scores diligently, as well as playing pool and checkers.
