DANDY ARTHUR OSKEY
Dandy Oskey, 56, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on May 21st, 2017, after a six-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Visitation will be held at Moore's Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24th. The family will be present from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Memorial Service and Life Celebration will be held at 1:30 p.m. on May 25th in the Oneighty building at Church on the Move in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Dandy was born in Flint, Michigan on September 17th, 1960. He graduated from Flint Southwestern High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Oakland University in Rochester, MI, where he was the co-captain of the soccer team.
Dandy was married to Laura J. Oskey (Cunningham) on December 27, 1996; they were married 20 years.
Dandy worked as a computer consultant in the health care industry for over 25 years and with Flextech for 20 of those years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, soccer, golf, cycling, and going to the movies. He was actively involved in helping others with ALS navigate their journey through his Facebook group and Youtube channel, making instructional and inspirational videos. Dandy was an active member of Church on the Move for over 20 years and spent 17 years as a volunteer for the Kids on the Move children's ministry at his church.
Dandy is survived by his wife Laura; 5 children, Amanda, and her husband, Justin Young, Brittany, and her husband, Andrew Brooks, Aaron, and his wife, Jennifer Oskey, Christina and Hallie Oskey; his grandson Tatum Young; his 3 brothers, Donald "Skip" A. Oskey, Dusty A. Oskey and Dallas A. Oskey; his mother, Mona Oskey-Kosa; his grandmother Annie Van Leuven; his nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and the rest of his family and friends.
Dandy is preceded in death by his father, Donald Arthur Oskey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Therapy Development Institute in his name.
