D'Ann Garrett of Broken Arrow passed away peacefully and surrounded by her children on July 19, 2020. D'Ann was born on April 29, 1941 in Tulsa to Dee and Thelma Richardson. She graduated from Will Rogers High School and was married in 1959 to Max Garrett of Tulsa. She worked for the public-school system, Wal-Mart, and The Gatesway Foundation until retirement.
D'Ann loved the outdoors, being a cub scout and girl scout leader, and keeping score at her sons' baseball games. After she retired and the kids left the home, she enjoyed relaxing at their lake property. Family was the most important thing for her. She loved having large family gatherings, whether during a holiday, summer cookouts with homemade ice cream, or end of football season payouts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a great-granddaughter. She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses: Mike and Pam Garrett of Aledo, Texas; Margie and Joe Akehurst of Broken Arrow; Ron and Tammy Garrett of Inola; and David and Tonya Garrett of Bartlesville. She had 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
