Darla Michelle
Trout
Oct 31, 1961 — Jun 26, 2026
Darla Michelle "Shelly" Trout lived a life full of love, joy, purpose, and friendship, touching everyone around her with an unmatched level of grace and kindness. She entered into eternal rest on June 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Shelly was born on October 31, 1961 to Eugene and Nancy Dixon.
Growing up she attended Tulsa Public Schools, was a Blue Bird in the Campfire Girls, was in the pom-pom squad and drill team at Bell Jr. High for 7th through 9th grade and sang in the chorus at Bell. She graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1979.
She attended Oklahoma State University but graduated college from the University of Oklahoma. That didn't stop her from spending her life as a die hard OSU Cowboys fan though! Go Pokes!
She was an occupational therapist and spent most of her career working with children at Children's Medical Center and Tulsa Public Schools. She touched countless lives, both students and educators, over those years and loved what she did with an unmatched passion.
She may have been small in stature, but she loved BIG! She loved - Jesus and people and animals and a theme and shopping and gift giving and helping others and family gatherings and arts and crafts shows and taking pictures and Halloween and music and her grandbabies ..... Many would say there was very little she didn't find joy in!
She is survived by one daughter Brianna Tipton, husband Reese, two light of her life grandsons, Grant and Hayes, one brother Richard "Kit" Dixon, several cousins and a myriad of extended family and friends who became family through loving cultivation over her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
