Obituary

Darwin Lee Donoho was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on January 20, 1971. He went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2026, at the age of 55.

He is survived by his two sons, Austin Donoho and Kagen Donoho; Kagen's wife, Lauren, and their children, Teddy, Vivi, and Harrison Donoho; his parents, Mary and Vern Donoho; his siblings, Mona Matney and her husband Steve, Eddie Donoho and his wife Kenya, Mary Anna Varolian and her husband Arman, and Wayne Donoho; his nieces and nephews, Casi Kroutter and her husband Paul, Cameron Matney, Cortni Donoho, and Makenzi Donoho; and his great-nieces, Halyn Hinds and Kreia Daniels, and great-nephew, Eden Bond.

Darwin was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus and faithfully attended LifeChurch. He also had a heart for serving others through Samaritan's Purse, and his dream was to serve with them full-time in retirement.

Darwin was a master floor installer who worked alongside his brothers, Eddie and Wayne. He took great pride in his work and was known not only for his craftsmanship in flooring but also as an excellent carpenter who could build and fix just about anything. He loved to work and was well known for whistling throughout the day. At one point in his life, he traveled across the United States working for his uncle Steve-an experience he often reflected on fondly, though he deeply missed being away from his boys.

As a child, Darwin loved the outdoors. He spent his days riding bikes and motorcycles, building forts, and swimming in ponds with his brothers and cousins on the five acres where his family lived for a time in Duncan, Oklahoma. There was even a dirt-packed basketball court where countless hours were spent.

As an adult, Darwin rarely sat still. He was always working on projects around his home or helping others with theirs. No matter the task, if he knew he could help, he would be there. One of the last projects he completed was a treehouse for his grandson Teddy. He was always up for a quick game of basketball and loved watching the Thunder play. He was also an avid runner, completing a half marathon and several 5Ks, and spent many hours running and hiking at Turkey Mountain. He restored two pickup trucks and was the proud owner of an '87 Trans Am, which he invested significant time and care into-it was his pride and joy.

Darwin loved playing the harmonica. He also enjoyed traveling, especially family trips to the beach. His favorite activity was boogie boarding with his boys, though he could just as easily sit for hours listening to the waves. He was always the first to rise in the morning, often heading down to the beach with a cup of coffee to watch the sunrise.

Above all, Darwin cherished time with his family. He especially loved Sunday family dinners-particularly when gumbo or roast with rice and gravy was on the menu, followed by German chocolate cake. His sons were his world. He took great pride in watching Austin play in the worship band at LifeChurch and in listening to Kagen play guitar or piano and sing. When his grandchildren were born, his joy only grew. One of his favorite pastimes was pulling them along on the back of his bike. In the final year of his life, he lived next door to them and treasured seeing them every day. He shared a special bond with his daughter-in-law, Lauren, and his face would light up whenever she entered the room.

Darwin was a true treasure, bringing joy to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. While words cannot fully express the depth of our loss, we hold fast to the hope of heaven and the promise that we will see him again.
