David Henderson age 61, of Tulsa, OK went to be with his Lord on May the 9th. 2018 at St. Francis Hospital at Tulsa, OK after a very short struggle with cancer.

Dave was born October 13, 1956 at Topeka, KS to his parents Arthur C. Henderson and Patricia Henderson. Dave's was a devoted husband to Andrea Lea Henderson for 32 years.

Dave graduated from high school at Tulsa Christian Academy in 1975.

Dave was very active in the bus ministry at Tulsa Baptist Temple during his teenage years. He and his dad ran a bus route picking up children and adults for Sunday school every Sunday. While at TBT as a teenager, Dave went on several missionary trips to Mexico, Jamaica, El Salvador and Guatemala to share the gospel of Christ.

Dave was a very skilled painter and craftsman in general. He worked for Nordam, First Baptist Church of Owasso and First Baptist of Broken Arrow, OK for the past ten years until his home going. Dave was very ambitious, organized and meticulous in his painting projects.

Dave was an avid sportsman who loved the Dallas Cowboys and O.U. Sooners. He loved to fish and hunt pheasants and deer in Kansas and Oklahoma. He loved to take his dog "Hoss" on those exciting pheasant hunts in Kansas with his dad and brothers. He played football and church league softball. He could hit the ball out of the park! It was once said by a fellow player, "I dreaded to see one of his line drives coming straight at me"!

Another notable thing remembered about Dave was the life of the party. He would make us break into hilarious laughter as he would suddenly appear in a crazy rainbow wig, buck teeth, etc. and verbalize in comedian antics. Sometimes his antics included some dance that could match any modern day hip hop dance by college athletes.

Dave is survived by his wife Andrea Henderson daughter Ashley Henderson, two sons Austin Henderson and Hunter Henderson. A brother Greg Henderson and his wife Meredith, three children Brody, Georgia and Brooke and one granddaughter Kenley of Dallas, Texas. A sister Sue Henderson of Detroit,MI. A sister in law Ruthetta Henderson and her son Nathan Henderson and wife Jennifer and two children Dalton and Delaney and other nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Dave was preceded in death by both parents, a brother Dwight Henderson and a very close cousin Larry Chandler.


Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church-Broken Arrow, 100 W. Albany Street, Broken Arrow, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
