David Garber, 85, passed away Friday, October 9th, 2015 in Tulsa, OK. He was born on March 26, 1930 in Pottstown, PA to John and Lilian Garber.
He was a proud U.S. Marine and Veteran of the Korean War and part of the Cold War (from 1950-1953). He was in the general contracting business specializing in roofing and asphalt. He enjoyed spending time with family and watching sports. He was a member of the Good Shepherd UCC in Boyertown, PA and Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK. He is a past President of the Lion's Club in Gilbertsville, PA. He is also a past President of Ambucs in Pottstown, PA.
He is survived by his lovely wife Virginia Garber (Fuhrman), whom he married in St. Peters, PA on June 23, 1990. Together they have 4 beautiful children: sons David Alan Garber and wife Ellen of Gilbertsville, PA; Wynn and his wife Marie Davenport of Perkiomenville, PA; Marc and his wife Stephanne Davenport of Conroe, TX; and daughter Robyn and her husband Arthur Seitzler of Dallas, TX. He also was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Chris and his wife Kelly Davenport, Michelle and her husband Chad Walker, Chelsea Davenport, Chloe Davenport, Melissa Davenport, Tiffany and her husband Frank De Leon, and Dan Seitzler. In addition, he also leaves behind 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Memorial service will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Thursday (10/15) at 10:00 A.M. The service location address is 3702 S. 90th E. Ave. Tulsa, OK 74145.
