Joseph David Henderson was born in Amarillo TX April 21, 1938, and went to be with the Lord June 27, 2022.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Keno Mathis and Emma Ruth Hester Henderson, granddaughter Kerilyn Brooke Henderson and niece Carrie Ann Douglas. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy, and their three children: son Wade and wife Jill of Dallas TX; son Andy and wife Kerri of Bixby OK; and daughter Elizabeth Richards and Josh of Bixby OK. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Katie, Emma, Jack, Drew, Will, Hardie and Gus. Additionally, he is survived by two brothers: Keno Mathis Henderson of Tomball TX and Daniel Lee Henderson of Washougal WA.

David received a BSEE degree from Texas Tech University and was a member Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Upon graduation he went to work for NASA in Cape Canaveral FL. He took an opportunity with General Electric in California where he met his soul mate. In 1968, David moved his family to Tulsa to work for Midwestern Instruments then Telex Corporation before starting his own company, Electronic Controls of Tulsa. How he loved his professional career, always designing!

Active in BSA, David achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow. As both an Elder and Trustee of John Knox Presbyterian Church, he volunteered many hours in service to the Lord. He participated in many mission trips and volunteered at John 3:16 Mission where he received the John 3:16 Feed the Hungry Award.

David's generosity and willingness to help others became apparent throughout his life. His quick wit and keen sense of humor, his whistling, appreciation for classical music, joy of cycling, family travels, and love of dogs will be fondly remembered.
