David Charles Laylin, 71, of Tulsa, OK, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 11, 2019. He was born on Wednesday, February 4, 1948, in Ashtabula, OH, to Raymond Laylin and Helen (March) Laylin. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Claremore, OK. He enjoyed camping, sailing, fishing and softball. David was proud to have served in the United States Army in Germany, during the Vietnam War, as a Specialist E-4. David is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Stewart) Laylin; his children, Amy Wolters and husband Michael of Claremore, OK, Sarah Long and husband David of Tulsa, OK, Julie Burnett of Abilene, TX, Connie Johnson and husband Michael of Broken Arrow, OK, Rebecca Richins and husband George of Skiatook, OK, Diane Swart and husband Ian of Fletcher, OK; 15 grandchildren; his siblings, Shirley "Sally" Johnson, Martha Bishop, Edward Laylin and wife Cherie, Margaret "Mitzi" Hodgkinson and husband Timothy, all of Ohio, Richard Laylin and wife Karen of Michigan, Susan Smith and husband Scott, Norma Bush and husband Carl, all of Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends. David was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, William Laylin and Gerald Laylin. David will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
