David was born June 22, 1952 in Kilsyth, Scotland to Michael Murphy and Rose (McGuire) Murphy. He was the eighth of nine children. He lived in Denny, Scotland most of his life. During this time David had many adventures some we may never know and others that were life changing. This is where David started his family. He met and later married his first wife. Most importantly he proudly welcomed his sons, Steven and Stuart into this world. He worked for Scottish Power as a mechanical fitter until he retired after 45 years of service. David met his wife Joan on the internet and immigrated to the US to be with her. They married in December of 2001. He not only became a husband again, David became a father to Roger and Jason.
David, never one to be idle, worked installing cabinets for their kitchen design company and later he worked for Mill Creek Tile until he retired again. After his second retirement David filled his days with lazy days fly fishing, painting landscapes, working on cars, doing DIY home projects and even tried his hand at making wine. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage and would share it with friends and family. He was also very proud when he became a US citizen on June 28, 2016.
David passed away May 11, 2019 in Tulsa Oklahoma with his wife and sons in attendance.
