Obituary

David J. Roberts, 71, of Tulsa, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 in Plainfield, IN. Born December 16, 1941 in Warsaw, IN to Sarah Marie (Sprigg) Dolby and Meredith Dolby, David was the younger of two sons. He was adopted by Walter Roberts on his marriage to Sarah.
Raised in Broad Ripple, IN, David spent summers with his grandfather on the family farm in Warsaw, IN. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School. David met his wife, Alayne L. Roberts, in Indianapolis, and they wed on December 1, 1962.
David actively assisted with daily Mass at Holy Family Cathedral and was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. David enjoyed spending time with friends and family, home improvement projects, reading Scripture, playing pool and traveling. He was an avid drummer in his youth.
He is survived by two sons, Anthony Lee Roberts and Michael Scott Murphree-Roberts; a daughter-in-law, Sharman Murphree-Roberts; four grandchildren, Amanda, Duncan, Emmalene, and Olivia Murphree-Roberts; a sister-in-law, Priscilla Roberts; a niece, Shelley Roberts; and a grand-niece, Sarah Grace Roberts.
Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Holy Family Cathedral followed by entombment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosary: 7:00 pm, Monday, February 25, 2013 Holy Family Cathedral. Mr. Roberts will lie in repose 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday, February 25, 2013 in Moore's Eastlawn Chapel, 1908 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK
